The goal was to design a VIP lounge for the Grandozzy music festival in Denver, CO. A golf course provided the festival grounds, and the lounge was themed after the movie Caddyshack.

 

The first step was to create a floor plan displaying all the proposed elements needed for a complete tent transformation. A 80’x40’ white tent was provided by Superfly, and Suite Treatments was hired to provide furniture, and installation. Highlights of the VIP event space included:

  • themed lounges

  • green astro turf flooring

  • inner weaving plaid inspired ceiling treatment

  • festoon lighting

  • standing arcade cabinets

  • painted mural.

To cover the interior tent walls, a custom fabricated hard wall was installed. Pants worn by Rodney Dangerfield provided inspiration for a custom pattern. The plaid swatch provided a 70's themed interlocking pattern that was applied to the upper portion of the hard wall. This pattern was designed to be scaled for a seamless installation on (25) modular 8’x8’ hard wall panels.   

 

In addition a rendering was included to demonstrate overall scale, and two different scaled pattern options. The final design printed on a medium weight paper that was applied to the hard wall on-site. This installed graphics covered 200’x4’ of hard wall.

Inside the tent, the guests were provided with an interactive theme based game. Guests would throw a velcro golf ball, at a 6’x4’ vinyl printed backdrop. The design was based on a golf course, and played similarly to darts. In addition a foam core sign was designed to provide game rules.

 

Outside of the tent, guests could play five holes of mini golf. Twelve custom designed game pieces were printed and assembled. The game pieces added a custom touch to a generic mini golf game and layout. Three iconic scenes from the movie were used as inspiration for the illustrations.
